She was born 20th February 1937 in Chillicothe OH to Olden Wilson, who was employed at an ironworks and Lillian Ryan, a former domestic worker. Nancy was the youngest of six children. Nancy grew up listening to the records of her father and his passion for music. As young as four years old, she realized she would be a singer.
