April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball star in the US is part of a select group of women who have been awarded medals at several Olympics. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time in Tokyo's Olympics is hoping to secure her third gold medal. Ross also hopes to get her very first Olympic gold. There is a chance that it is her last opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. Nevertheless she is confident that the top awards are in reach. Ross through NBC Boston, said that when the team performs well or at all they can earn a gold. It's also going to be an issue of luck. Ross was a Californian born in Costa Mesa in 1982. Her family lived in the area with her mother, father and younger sister. The athletic pursuits she pursued continued at Newport Harbor High School where she participated in several sports. Apart from the indoor game, she also was a basketball player and also ran track as a pre-collegiate athlete. However she was clearly superior to the rest in this latter game. As per her biography her high school days, she played volleyball as an outside setter (middle blocker) and setting (outside blocker). In recognition of her work, she was honored as the 1999 Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. Her volleyball skills also won her an Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in 2000. Ross and Klineman are doing what they do in 2017. The reality is that Ross was an important player in the world of beach volleyball prior to the pair. As a matter of fact Ross has won a number of major tournaments in her career with two partners. One of them is a legend. For six years from 2007-2013 she played together with Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be an impressive force on the international arena, taking home the world championship in 2009 together. The duo would go on to win a silver in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team along with Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross Jennings was May-Treanor's replacement after she had retired. They both went on to take home the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics 2016 with Walsh Jennings. Ross was a college athlete at USC Trojans prior to beginning the start of her professional career. She played in high school, and even before hitting the beaches as a professional. The time she spent at USC was impressive. When she was a freshman in 2000, her play earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA the Freshman of the Year award. Her performance also assisted in helping the Trojans to make it to into the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss during her sophomore year, but was still capable of achieving the All-American distinction. In her last two years in the Trojans program, she coached the team to win a national championship each year. The individual accomplishments of her have established her place as a legendary volleyball player. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the top female NCAA player. Ross majored at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the opportunity to see her daughter become the beach volleyball's biggest star. Ross's mother passed away from cancer of the breast when she was a sophomore at USC. However, she continues to hold her lost parent near and dear. In addition, Margie remains a source of motivation for her at the beach as well as in everyday her daily life.
